Welcome to spring, finally! With the wise words of Estrid Ericson of the infamous Svensk Tenn above, what could be a more wonderful way to embrace the season? It's the perfect time to fill your home with flowers, colour and perhaps even some stripes. Here's my how-to guide...
Firstly, let's discuss the all-important garden party. It's at this time of year that we all start to come out of hibernation and feel in need of some fun with our loved ones. Whether you're planning a garden buffet, a laid-back bbq or some afternoon tea and cake, let me help you make it an event to remember.
Tip One: Firstly, I would suggest being carefree with your colour scheme! Mix'n'match and be playful to create a modern tablescape. In my garden, I have used our signature pink striped tablecloth with jumbo red ric rac and paired it with an assortment of bright napkins. Feel free to mix up your table cloths if you have more than one table, the more the merrier, clash away! I've never been much of a minimalist, especially when it comes to Spring colours.
Tip Two: Next, it's time for plates, glasses, cutlery & candle holders! I love to use a good mix of vintage and modern together. Popollo and Vaisselle Boutique have a great selection of striped plates (which I love). To cover all your vintage needs, check out Albie & Pearl, she has everything and more! For candles I have tracked down the perfect colours from British Colour Standard, they're all sustainably made with an 8hr burn time.
Tip Three: My final tip is to add a sprinkle of fun and sunshine to your table in the form of dried flowers (of course). Try our Tickles of Spring dried flower arrangement which is just the dose of happy you need, with an everlasting mix of pastel spring flowers. This arrangement is ideal to separate into mini Raawii vases across your table, using small stems to large hydrangeas. Don't forget to pop a few remaining dried flower stems on the plate settings to really finish it off.
A table should be eye-catching and memorable so I have taken the time to design and source the perfect items that can be used time and time again.
